Mt. Fuji, Japan
Situated on the Japanese island of Honshū, Mount Fuji is an active stratovolcano boasting a summit elevation of 3,776.24 meters. As the tallest mountain in Japan, it holds the distinction of being the second-highest volcano on an Asian island and the seventh-highest peak on an island globally. Mount Fuji’s most recent eruption occurred between 1707 and 1708. Positioned approximately 100 km southwest of Tokyo, the mountain is visible from the Japanese capital on days with clear weather.
